I have been wanting to consider this recipe for some time. I saw these on The Baking Robot’;s blog. She has plenty of truly fun and whimsical creations, like cotton candy jelly and Twizzlers ice cream. I just love these gummy bear thumb print cookies so I had to give them a attempt.
I am content to report that these are super entertaining and simple to make. They are also delicious! They type of taste like a pop tart—kind of pie crust + fruity. If that can make sense. These would be a whole lot of enjoyable to make with children. I feel my niece would just Really like creating and consuming these.
Gummy Bear Thumbprint Cookies, helps make twenty. Slightly adapted from The Baking Robot.
one/2 cup butter, softened
one/4 cup brown sugar
one egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
one cup flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
10 gummy bears (plus a lot more for snacking)
Cream collectively the butter and sugar. Stir in the egg yolk and extract. Then stir in the flour and salt until effectively-mixed and crumbly. Cover and place the dough in the freezer for 10 minutes.
Shape the dough in to twenty small balls. Spot them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Use your thumb to press a swallow bowl into each cookie. Or, if you’;re completely cliche like me, develop indented heart shapes in every.
Bake at 305°F for 8-9 minutes.
While these bake lower the gummy bears into 4 pieces each. You may need to have 2 pieces (half a gummy bear) per cookie. Once these are partially baked, place the gummy bear bits in the hearts. Bake for one more 2 minutes.
If some of your cookies crack, or the gummy bears aren’;t location in the centers, they may overflow on a number of of the cookies. But that is kind of pretty, if you ask me. I occasionally extra a handful of diverse colored pieces to one cookie, to develop a 2 toned heart. Have entertaining with these! They are as considerably entertaining to bake as they are to eat. Take pleasure in. xo. Emma
