This weekend, the extension was officially declared as sealed, confirmed by the fact that the kitchen wall came down after and for all! It had been partly demolished as the roof beams went in earlier this month, but now it is nicely and truly gone!
It was a supporting wall but methods have been taken place final month to make sure the total home didn’t come crashing down. That would have put a bit of a downer on the undertaking if I’m getting absolutely honest…
With that in thoughts, it was just a case of bringing the wall down brick by brick. I say merely, but it did search like a knackering job from what I noticed. Ho hum! Here are a handful of action snaps we managed to take just before the kitchen turned into a complete and utter pile of dust!
When the wall went, I couldn’t cease from grinning. Confident, it’s dusty as anything and the house is actually going to be the messiest it has ever been in the approaching months – which is really saying something – but just search at the area!
For the first time, and not just on 3D design and style representations, we are able to get a proper truly feel as to the size of the long term kitchen/diner. Whilst it’s even now very much in 2 elements, manufactured clear by a foot-drop in which the floor is but to be installed, it’s acquiring easier to image the progress.
Most of the bricks have now been moved to the skip. The floor is even now soil, but it is all coming along. And, with another wall set to go quickly, it’s probably to get dirtier before it gets any far better. I’m hoping that most will be completed just before Christmas, or at the very least the floor, so that we can place a tree up!
I enjoy how I can see all the way to the bottom of the backyard when I come by means of the front door (properly, I would if it wasn’t pitch black when I’m house) thanks to the new kitchen window, and it is wonderful how bright the room is.
Anyway, I’ll allow the images do the talking so you can see what it appears like. What do you consider? I Adore IT!
