Week 3 currently? You know what that signifies…Christmas is this week! I’;m fired up to wrap up this project. Not that I am anxious for it to be over, but I’;m seeking forward to obtaining a completed scrapbook for my shelf. It’;ll be my initial a single because we’;ve been married. I currently cleared a area for it. Ha!
Here’;s my progress from week 3:
Once yet again, I did all my printing at property this week. I also started out operating on a (Massive) scrapbooking venture that will be on the website later in January and I invested so considerably time printing. It was kinda humorous due to the fact I acquired addicted and Saturday morning it was the 1st factor I imagined of when I woke up. It really is super gratifying to have printed hundreds of photographs this week that had been just sitting on my old phone and challenging-drives. I will share more about that soon!
This week I finally acquired all around to completing the album cover. It was super effortless! 1. I printed 2 images (for the front and back) at 7×10 inches (just a small greater than the cover area I needed to cover. I adhered the pictures to the front and the back with tons of scrapbook adhesive. 2-3. I flipped the album over and trimmed the photograph to fit the cover properly with rounded corners. 4. I pried the metal embellishment off the spine with a screwdriver and my giant muscle groups, of course! 5. (not pictured) I lower piece of gold scrap leather (leftover from this quite project) to match the spine. I utilised superglue to adhere it. I would like to include 2013 to it also- but I’;m not sure what to use. Any suggestions?
I enjoy the gold spine! I adore red as well, but I have a vision of matching color-coded scrapbooks (heh! Dream large, proper?) and metallics just come to feel very properly festive to me!
These photos had been taken by our talented friend Candice Stringham on a current snow day right here in our community. They’;re a treasure to us. Thank you Candice!!!
I utilised yet another photo for the back of the book.
We have a quite rigid no-Scrooge policy close to here. Nobody is permitted to be a vacation hater. Which is just not Ok. With that said, we had enjoyable naming our preferred irritating vacation songs at brunch the other day! I imply, how did the twelve days of Christmas not make the list? haha. (Now you have to inform me yours in the comments!)
Of course the pictures that Candice took deserved a couple pages. If I would have been organized enough to send out cards I would have utilised these. However, it didn’;t occur this 12 months. I will forgive myself eventually. Hats off to all of you who did it. You win each prize.
Rachel visited this week. It was a operate/entertaining visit. We did a great deal of each and it was superb to see her.
The dogs have a great deal of holiday outfits. These are their elf shirts.
On this page you can see that I last but not least ran out of full web page protectors.
Allow the slicing begin! Suki nonetheless appears cute in 4 pieces, don’;t you consider?
I’;ve been documenting the progress on our new space. I could make a complete book about just that, but I decided to just add a few photographs here so that years from now I will remember that this was the year we had been renovating the new studio.
Yesterday was our cousin’;s wedding. It was a fantastic evening. Critically, a single of the most fun weddings I have ever been to! I’;m thankful I was in a position to get a few snapshots with my mobile phone.
I begged my grandparents to take a photograph booth collectively and they did. They gave me an added copy of their strip and I stole 1 of Emma and Trey’;s also. They’;re all receiving framed asap!
My grandfather looked adorable in his tux. I got to sit by him at the reception. Best seat in the property.
Confession time! In many years previous I have tossed our Christmas card stashes. I usually felt horrible, but what was I going to do with them? This year I’;m so so so enthusiastic that as an alternative of tossing them they have a minor property in the back of our album. On that note, I just have to say, I’;m blown away by how cute everyone’;s cards are! It’;s SO enjoyable to see all our friends’; increasing households and memories from the year. It is special.
To make the pocket: 1. Staple a piece of cardstock to a web page protector (make it as big as you can to fit in your book). 2. Trim the extra webpage protector away and adhere the pocket to your book. 3. Use ribbon or tape the hide the staples. Include letter stickers. 3. Completed and carried out! Now you can conserve these puppies permanently.
So cute, proper?!
Progress! I can’;t believe there’;s just 1 more week left!
Here are a couple of thoughts about this task.
1. I am so glad I tried. I most likely would not have printed out any photographs this month if it was not for this challenge. I would have been happy with something, but having this practically completed little guide feels like a treasure to me. Thanks for inviting me to join in the entertaining, Ali!
2. The holidays are not best. Jeremy, Rachel and Katie and I had some great conversations this week about how the holidays can be a whole lot of pressure. It truly is superb to have individuals to buy gifts for and events to attend and a property to decorate with sparkly decorations, but it’;s a good deal. A great deal to do, a great deal to don’;t forget and a whole lot to take pleasure in in what’;s really a really short time period of time.
I did not send out cards, my residence isn’;t completely festive and I generally neglect to use my camera all month. There are moments when I truly feel discouraged by our hectic schedule. I am guilty of starting up also many sentences with, “When we have little ones we’;ll start (insert any tradition or cute family activity here)”.
I share all of this to say that I’;m thankful that this Sunday ritual of printing out my images and putting them in a book. This easy process has assisted me recognize how full and stunning our lifestyle is. It reminds me that absolutely nothing is missing that that my imperfect lifestyle is deserving of all the gratitude in my heart.
3. I want to make far more albums. It is a excellent feeling as the new 12 months approaches! Let’;s do this!
Hope you guys had a fantastic week! xo. Elsie
