I’ve been so undesirable at updates lately and we’ve had an massive quantity of change at the house. Last time I posted a development update the kitchen wall was knocked down, exposing the entire of the extension to the present kitchen, creating it a single huge room.
This manufactured it time to lastly get flooring extra.
Due to the foundations needing to be dug to a specified level (like, effectively deep dudes), in order to raise the flooring to 1 constant degree necessary a layer of sand, insulation, and then concrete. You can see the progress under, as properly as how it sits following to the present kitchen floorboards.
To get to this point, the back wall of the lounge had to start coming down. As you can see from beneath, the lounge is primarily complete of boxes so activity 1 was to shift them to the other finish of the room, producing the lounge fairly a lot a no-go region.
But looky looky! Seem shut. The radiator has been eliminated from the wall (it’s moving to the kitchen) and there is now a whopping wonderful massive hole by way of to the extension!
Beneath is what it looks like from within the extension, though this image was taken just ahead of the concrete floor was done. Seems to be messy does not it? It genuinely was! Thankfully, we’re presently arranging on having the carpet professionally cleaned as soon as all of this muck is dealt with.
Whilst the task was carried out genuinely neatly, there was a deep red film of dust that abruptly appeared on Everything in the lounge, producing it seem like we were living on Mars. Whilst I’m truly a terrible duster at the best of instances, it’s acquired to the point in which there actually is no point in attempting to preserve this mess. Soon it will nearly be behind us anyway! And hey, in the meantime, Joe is truly enjoying “getting creative” in the dust, as you can see under. Must I be anxious?
Following update, more destruction, far more dust and officially becoming an open space!
