We are content to welcome Coucou Brooklyn to the site nowadays to share a small bit about their company!
“Coucou Brooklyn is a French language college and cultural center in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. At Coucou we supply French lessons and workshops, as well as “specialty” classes, this kind of as knitting classes, French theater, and even yoga taught in French! We also have French classes for infants and toddlers, and will launch an right after college program for older kids in January. Aside from our focus on language educating, we also host ar2rk openings, concerts, movie screenings, and wine tastings, all with an eye in direction of producing a pertinent cultural exchange between New Yorkers, French expats, and everyone in in between. We are a team of 3 girls, and are proud of our space, which presents facets of a standard language school with a fun, modern twist.”
“On an average day, we open up the area, solution emails and get care of various administrative tasks, work on organizing and marketing our approaching events, and then put together our lessons for the day. We usually have a couple of personal lessons in the morning or afternoon and then at least a single group class every single in the evening. The weekends are also fairly hectic, which is standard – folks come to us for courses anytime they are not at function themselves!
1 of our preferred (and also most practical) pieces in the area is our bookshelf made out of wine crates. It serves as our library, holding a wide array of French novels, newspapers, magazines, motion pictures, as well as enjoyable knick-knacks. We love its asymmetry and DIY look, and feel it really is considerably a lot more entertaining than your common bookshelf. We also adore our whiteboards, which are not standard “whiteboards” at all! We painted large squares on the walls in bright colours, and fixed rectangular plexiglass sheets more than them. You can compose on the plexiglass just as properly as on a whiteboard, and it really is just one more way to spice up our area a minor bit, and make it a tiny less academic.”
“I really like this room simply because when I perform right here, I really feel like I’;m at residence. This helps us bridge the gap among “school” and “room/cultural center,” and helps make our classes a small much less formal, and a great deal more fun. Our area is also versatile, and lends itself nicely to a lot of distinct routines. Aside from courses, we are holding yoga courses in French, backyard movie screenings, wine tastings, and art exhibitions (even though not simultaneously!) We are in the procedure of putting some AstroTurf down in our backyard to make it a small more comfy.”
Thanks so considerably for sharing your area with us, Coucou Brooklyn! xo.
