A Gold + Geometric Wedding Image Me&u

Maria + Morne tied the knot at the knot at Arts on Principal in Johannesburg. The couple, both designers, met in the course of the Design and style Indaba in 2010. Maria was residing in Stellenbosch at the time and Morne had come from Johannesburg to attend the conference. He came to town to pay a visit to a mutual friend who brought him along on a evening out. After some really persistent conversation-beginning on Morne’s component they at some point began chatting. The rest, as they say, is history. Right after 3 years of extended distance dating they got hitched!

The couple chose to layout and make all the stationery and decor themselves. Maria’s sister in law, who is a wonderful artist, created all the flower arrangements.

‘Canteen at Arts on Primary has a really unique aesthetic, it is an industrial space, but it is also warm and earthy. We wished some subtle decor that would match in to the space organically without having changing it. We each like muted colors and basic clean style and, combined with the inspiration from the industrial room, we arrived at a palette of beige, brown, navy blue, and a spot of gold. The decor was inspired by geometric shapes (we arrived at a triangle form when producing a emblem from the very first letter of our names – M), which we mixed up with natural wild flower arrangements. ‘
