This modern day expansion of an old railway station by Zecc in cooperation with Jeroen van Zwetselaar is a lovely juxtaposition of previous and new. The older brick walls supply a reminder to what was but the open spaces let for what is, sorry if that sounded also deep. The huge boat shaped beams in the upper degree ad a huge layout component that plays into the conversation of juxtaposition.
“On 2 sides an extension is accomplished with difficult lines and massive glass surfaces, which focuses on the surrounding greenery. The little railway home actually breaks via its ancient walls outdoors and provides new insight into the landscape. The outdated railway cottage is on the within virtually unchanged. The remains of numerous alterations have been eliminated, leaving a pure and characteristic brick cottage. This outdated area offers safety and simultaneously connects all contiguous open spaces of the residence.”
